The Department of Heritage, Telangana, on Friday signed an MoU with Noor International Micro Film Centre, New Delhi, for repair, conservation, digitalization, documentation and cataloguing of the manuscripts, paintings and dastawaizs kept in State Museum, Hyderabad.
Noor International Micro Film Centre has expertise in treating the documents and preserving the paper documents with new Herbal Technology which is reversible and enhances the life span of the document beyond 100 years.
This MoU is signed on Friday by Bharati Hollikeri, Director, Department of Heritage Telangana and Dr Mehdi Khajeh Piri, Director, Noor International Micro Film Centre in the presence of Shailaja Ramaiyer, Principal Secretary to Government, YAT & C Department at Bhagavan Mahaveer Auditorium, State Museum, Public Gardens, Hyderabad.
Noor International Micro Film Centre situated at embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran, New Delhi, has collaborated with different national and international institutions including State Archives.
The Department of Heritage, Telangana, is a custodian of priceless manuscripts, paintings, dastawaizs and other paper documents in the State Museum, Hyderabad.
These documents are displayed and some are kept in store room. The material of these documents are susceptible for fast deterioration beyond recognition. These documents are mine of information on history, society, language, religion and calligraphy of different periods. This information is very helpful in reconstructing political, social, linguistic, religious history of the state. However, the department is equipped with old technology used in the department which is not long lasting.
